Looking back at all that we’ve accomplished in the past year, we have so much to be proud of. As we march into the next decade, we have been hyper-focused on recruiting dynamic leadership to take Babies of Homelessness to the next level.

Babies of Homelessness is pleased to announce the board has elected three new board members, Cindy Kitts, David Wilson, and Emily O’ Hara. Brittan Stockert, the Executive Director has also hired two new part-time staff members, Katie Forrest, Program Manager, and Rosa, Elings, Outreach Navigator, and Inventory Specialist—both long time volunteers since BOH’s founding. 

“We are pleased to add talented people to Babies of Homelessness’ Board of Directors and staff,” said, Star Lalario, Founder of Babies of Homelessness. “They each bring deep knowledge and commitment, as well as an understanding of the issues facing family homelessness and the basic needs gap in Greater Seattle. Their leadership will be an asset to the organization as we continue our work to elevate the visibility and capacity of our nonprofit.” 

Babies of Homelessness is a nonprofit crisis response team that delivers basics needs (diapers, wipes, formula) to families with children experiencing homelessness in the Puget Sound region. Access to basic needs is perhaps the single most powerful tool for overcoming homelessness. Yet, families experiencing homelessness face an increasing number of barriers that prevent them from equitably accessing items such as diapers, formula, and food. We’re here to change that. Our volunteer network operates a 24/7 phone line to assess needs and then deliver basic necessities within 72 hours. No multiple rounds of intakes. No waitlist. No red tape. No referral process. The children’s needs are always our top priority.
