Babies of Homelessness is pleased to announce that Katie Forrest has been named Interim Executive Director beginning September 1. Katie is deeply committed to supporting our families and building networks so babies, toddlers and families can get the assistance they need. Babies of Homelessness is confident Katie has the right mix of experience and understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing local parents and caregivers today.
“We are pleased that Katie has stepped into this role as we search for an Executive Director,” says Angela Harmon, Board Chair. “We are honored to work alongside her during this period of transition. We are confident that Katie’s skills will strengthen Babies of Homelessness as we prepare to help even more families over the next few years.”
Katie joined the Babies of Homelessness team in 2017 as an Intake volunteer, then served as a Committee Chair and Board Member. She has been our Program Director for the past year, overseeing the Intake and Outreach programs. As an educator for several years and a mother of two daughters, Katie has always been passionate about advocating for families and children. She feels the importance of our mission, and the families we serve, have strengthened her dedication to the organization.
Rosa Elings, Field Operations Manager, will provide support to Katie by taking over more responsibilities on the programs side during the transition. Rosa is such a valuable member of the team. Her strong commitment to Babies of Homelessness and her experience working directly with our families and compassionate nature will ensure our mission remains strong.
