Since COVID-19, we’ve seen a 40% increase in the number of deliveries we’re making. Moms and dads experiencing homelessness and partner agencies are calling us daily asking for our support. Now more than ever, they’re facing challenges accessing basic items like diapers and formula they usually rely on from a few places.
We remain on the frontlines ensuring families and agencies have our support during this tough period, and we’re working hard as safely as possible to protect the families we serve and our volunteers.
All while operating with limited crisis-mode volunteer staffing and negotiating diaper shortages, we’ve accomplished the following these past two months:
- sent our van on 22 different stops across two counties,
- made 68 contact-free deliveries to individual families with a small team of outreach drivers
- distributed 29,741 diapers, 103 packages of wipes, and 121 cans of formula (excluding baby and toddler food and all the non-emergency items we distribute from our partner at Eastside Baby Corner)
